AnneMarie Destruel, AGAC DNP is a nurse practitioner who has been accepted to UCSF's Surgical and Critical Care NP Fellowship Program.

AnneMarie started her nursing career on an inpatient rehabilitation unit working with patients who had varying medical diagnoses ranging from burns, LVADs and total knee replacements. This unique unit focused on transitioning patients from the acute care setting to home with their families. AnneMarie worked for three and a half years on an inpatient neurological ICU step down and medical surgical unit. These patients had varying neurological diagnoses such as stroke, epilepsy, brain tumors and multiple sclerosis. These units had various different team members all enhancing patient centered care in their own unique ways. As a nurse on both of these units AnneMarie was a preceptor for new graduate nurses. As a preceptor she adjusted her teaching style for each individual's different learning needs. During Covid 19 AnneMarie was hired for a crisis nurse position for three months on a step down Covid unit prior to starting the UCSF NP Fellowship Program. This experience further peaked her interest in critical care medicine.

AnneMarie earned her bachelor's in Nursing from Regis University. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Nurse Practice through Rush University. Anne Marie is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also a member of the American Nurse's Association and Neuro Science Nurse's Association.
